The Monte Carlo Casino fire UPDATE.

A major 3 Alarm Fire broke out on the roof of the Monte Carlo Hotel Casino in Las Vegas Nevada today around 11am.

Fire spread quickly across the center line of the hotel roof-line spilling fiery debris onto thestreet below, and large orange flames tattered the casino’s script sign. Most of the fire was confined to the main part of the roof, the sprinkler system stopped the fire from spreading. A spokesperson for the resort’s owner, MGM Mirage, says officials walked room-to-room evacuating the hotel. All went smoothly through the 3000 room property, there were 7 people injured during the blaze.

Firefighters had to climb a whopping 32 stories to put out the blaze – yeah-hay for the Vegas Firefighters! Authorities had to close the Strip for a short while. It took firefighters about an hour to get the fire under control. Luckily no one was hurt in the blaze.
