WORKSHOP 3: GREEN MEETINGS ARE EVERYBODY’S BUSINESS

As the one ultimately responsible for holding, supporting and/or funding meetings, you can be a major decision-maker over whether a meeting is planned with the environment in mind. This workshop is a training session on how to create smarter, greener and more sustainable meetings. You’ll learn the definition of a green meeting, what it takes to plan a green meeting, what your role is as the planner or venue, how to create realistic results and how to measure those results. The workshop also will showcase current efforts to green meetings including the practices adopted by the Moscone Center. Whether you instruct, supply or coordinate meetings, you will learn your power to conserve.
WORKSHOP 4: PLANNING FOR YOUR FUTURE: READY TO BECOME A CMP?
SPEAKERS: Ruthie Keidel, CMP, Vice President & Operations Manager, Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. and
Eileen Ho, CMP, Event Coordinator, Wells Fargo Advantage Funds
Get a comprehensive overview of the benefits of the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation. You will gain insight into the professional advantages of obtaining the designation, learn about the process and receive tips on how to complete the application. Additionally, learn about the MPINCC resources available to help you prepare for the exam. To qualify as a candidate for the CMP examination, you must demonstrate a broad range of experience in the field of meeting management, including:
· A minimum of three years employment experience in meeting management.
· Current, full-time employment* in a meeting management capacity. (*CIC will accept applicants who have been unemployed for a period less than twelve (12) months from the application submission date.)
· Responsibility and accountability for the successful completion of meetings.
The deadline for submitting your application for the August 9, 2008 exam is April 9, 2008.
Dr. Magee will expand on his general session message of Performance Execution. This workshop will focus on creating your plan to develop your performance execution goals. You will leave with quantifiable models you can instantly use to move yourself and/or your organization to the next level of performance. The workshop will center on the six critical factors that influence the “Ownership Model” and how you motivate individuals and groups to assume greater levels of ownership on projects and within the organization over-all!
