Fair & Festival Convention Opens a Sold Out Show

What an Opening Day of the Western Fairs Association (WFA) Convention taking place in Reno Nevada right now.  It is a Huge Success!  Event City welcomes the Western Fair Association’s main Convention and all of its delegates to the Grand Sierra Resort, and all of their fine Exhibitors to this wonderful show.  See a serendipity of talent and unique products and services as you peruse this exhibitor list.

The day began with the Opening General Assembly which included a visit from California’s Secretary of Agriculture, A.G. Kawamura who recognized John Kegebein for his dedication to the Santa Cruz County Fair. The California Department of Food and Agriculture, Division of Fairs and Expositions unveiled Code Adam, a tool for all fairs to use in cases of missing children. Our keynote, L. Hunter Lovins struck a cord with the audience when she presented a business case for creating a sustainable and greener business and environment.

The sold out Trade Show opened with a bang. Prizes were awarded hourly and aisles were crowded the entire four hours of the show. The NICA Food Show was popular with service members and fairs alike. We look forward to continued success. The evening activities began with a delightful Presidents reception with great food and lots of networking opportunities. As the Presidents reception ended a successful Entertainment Showcase began. Crowds poured into the Reno Ballroom for great entertainment, one dollar beers, food, dancing and a rockin’ good time. Western Fairs Association wishes everyone the best for 2009!

President Barack H. Obama History & Hope

On Tuesday, January 20th, 2009 at 12:05pm EST Barack Obama became the 44th President of the United States of America and the 1st African American President ever! Catch the Event City coverage at our Event City Creative Magazine.

All of us at the Event City Network, Event City Emporium and the Internet Organization are looking forward to the new administration of President Obama.

We are so thrilled to be able to live to see the dream of Martin Luther King come to pass. To see the Millions on site who witnessed this historic event. To listen to his eloquent but tough speech to the country and to the world, and to realize how he and his Cabinet will be rolling up their sleeves as soon as first thing tomorrow morning to get to the job at hand – CHANGE.

We will be there right along side our new President to do whatever we can do to help with our dream for Hope and the challenge of Change.

CRUNCHIES At SF Herbst Theater – We’re LIVE

The Crunchies, and no this isn’t a blast from the past, but their logo is really does represent 2008/2009. The Crunchies are the Oscars of the world of technology.

There are many different companies here. Those you would recognize in a nanosecond, and many that may be household names in the next year or two.

Microsoft, Amazon, and others. Wow, MARISSA MAYER from Google, she is the VP of Search Product & User Experience – what a title! She said there will be some interesting developments in seaerch and You Tube and Blogger coming along soon.

David Treadwell and Ray Ozzie of Microsoft are working to “Expand the Internet” with some of their new apps and technologies. They said there are “No specific announcements coming up”.

The Stanford Mobile Phone Orchestra – a very “interesting” group. I guess the best way to describe them would be to say they produce “music” or sound that is reminisence of a bad video game. It certainly fits the category of a bit bizarre, but still a bit cool. Then they added a guitar, 5 CellPhonemonicas.

They came back for an encore and presented a very cool rendition of Stairway to Heaven. I really got to get one of those devices.

Om Malek, the presenter for Best Mobile Startup, actually was given the wrong “Envelope” , luckily he didn’t let the cat out of the bag for the next presenter.

More to come and then theres the after party!!’

See ya soon!
