San Francisco’s Ridesharing Company Lyft Takes Off in 24 New Cities in 1 Day

As much as I am a huge fan of Sidecar and have even supported the SF Cabbie Community, and regardless of how anyone might feel about Lyft or their funky pink moustache, you cannot deny that this above commercial is perfectly produced and compelling to say the least! I would even venture to say it is CLEO material.

Lyft becomes the #1 Ridesharing TNC in the United States and promises to expand into International waters very soon.

Have you heard? Want to buy the original Batmobile? Well hold on a minute we have something old, but new for you. You know, just like there are new models of vehicles that come on the market from time to time in order to keep up with the times; well now’s the time for that new Batmobile or should we say Batmobiles. A selection of different models each with new technologies and uniqueness of the Batman movie. I’m sure Adam West is just rolling his eyes about now, and his Boy Wonder sidekick is shouting out a huge, “Holy Whitewalls Batman”!
On that note, we have found the true to life, real, original classic Batmobile will be auctioned very soon. This particular model has been customized and built to look exactly like the one found in the original Batman comic book series. This piece of super hero, comic book history, will cost you a pretty penny of at least $90,000, that’s if there are no other bidders of this super clean machine.
Heritage Auctions house, the company managing this auction event, has announced that this particular model Batmobile was customized in 1960 by 23-year-old Forrest Robinson, he finished this fabrication in 1963. The above photo shows this model and they claim it is the earliest known officially licensed 1963 Batmobile, where he built it by hand from a 1956 Oldsmobile. Then two years later, George Barris customized the Batmobile for “Batman” the TV series. So why is this such a big deal? It doesn’t take a super bat to realize that this particular Batmobile from 1963 is truly the Batman fans biggest collectors item as it is to be the “earliest known car in existence that was sanctioned by a DC Comics licensee.” Additionally it is the car that started the entire Batmania craze in the early 60’s.
After the TV series was retired and Batmania died down, Forrest sold the car for $200. It lay abandoned in a New Hampshire field for almost fifty years. This beautiful, stylish work of art remained a long-forgotten piece of American Pop Culture until it was literally dug up. The car was eventually purchased by Toy Car Exchange LLC and transported to Borbon Fabrications in Sacramento, CA, a company that specializes in vintage car restorations.
This auction will take place via the Internet and bidding is set to commenced this December 5th at 8 p.m. PST, and the auction will end on December 6th at 9 a.m. PST. If you end up placing the winning bid on this fabulous piece of history, you will need to hop in your Batcopter to come to Northern California to pick it up .
PLEASE NOTE:
This car will NOT be on display at Heritage’s Dallas office as it is currently being stored in Northern California. All serious inquires who would like to see the car in Northern California, may contact Margaret Barrett at (310) 492-8631 to make arrangements.

If you are the successful bidder, it will be your responsibility to retrieve the car from Northern California yourself. Heritage Auctions will NOT be responsible for shipping this car to you.
