This WhiteWater attraction, is paired up with one of the park’s most popular slides, Zipp Zapp Zoom. This unique Wet’n’Wild addition offers an extreme element of play to entice any major thrill seeker but also simple enough for grandma and grandpa to play as well. This new ride, recently unveiled on Memorial Day weekend will solidify Wet’n’Wild Las Vegas as the premier water park in the area according to the facility’s management.

The Slideboarding game is the first-of-its-kind in the world and integrates an online gaming platform into a waterpark ride that will define the future of the waterpark industry.
Ok, sounds interesting, but what exactly is Slideboarding? Slideboarding incorporates gaming and competitive sports into a waterslide experience. It creates an X-sport culture that is a game, a sport and a physical thrill and it is expected to set a tidalwave of change throughout the industry forever.

The technology uses a state-of-the-art riding board or vehicle with an embedded game controller, and when combined, creates the ultimate smart gaming system that tracks each player’s progress and score as he or she heads down the slide. The system then posts the scores on affiliated scoreboards. The system creates tailored experiences for each rider in varying degrees of difficulty based upon any prior Slideboard game experience.

The game incorporates 36 levels of difficulty and the controller is designed to give a rider the experience of being a real-life avatar navigating the slide. The ride is featured at the park’s Zipp Zapp Zoom tower’s green slide. The Slideboarder is one who engages in the Sideboarding experience, “plays” or rides the attraction while sitting on the raft or board like seat with hand grips that double as the game controllers.

There are a series of color-coded buttons that match the same colored bulbs displayed within the dark, 300-foot-long tunnel while passing over hidden sensors within the slide. The Slideboarder must mimic the patterns as they pass thru a dark tunnel while self selected music is being played on their Slideboarding custom experience. The game is scored and plays a lot like the game Simon.

Slideboarding App

Slideboarding App – Practice at home or on the go

Wet’n’Wild just launched the SLIDEBOARDING App a few days ago, it will simulate the actual ride experience. It features a replica of the park’s, Zipp Zapp Zoom, with the same twists, turns and colored buttons. Slideboarders will be able to practice their skills while away from the park or on the go to prepare for their next visit. Gold and VIP Season Pass holders can enjoy this experience all summer long and others can pay-to-play as they level up. Visit our Creative Magazine website for downloading links to the Slideboarding app.

This is the park’s 3rd Season at their Las Vegas location and their general manager, Takuya Ohki assures us, “Our 2015 season promises to be amazing and one of the best ways to take advantage of everything we have going on is with a Season Pass; with savings deals available throughout the season, it’s never been more affordable to have one for every member of the family.” He adds that they are “…thrilled to be the first park in the world to feature this Slideboarding technology and to bring such a fun element to the Las Vegas valley.”

Slideboarding end of the line

A happy Slideboarder at the end of the ride

Wet’n’Wild of Las Vegas has 25 slides and attractions in more than 20 acres of space, and offers facilities for private parties, meetings and special events, recently hosting an event for over 5500 attendees. There are several locations at the park for companies and individuals to rent for special event activities.

The park produces some of their own events as well, such as Dive-in Movies – every Friday night hosting a family movie at the “wave pool” area of the park. This activity will run now thru the middle of August and the movie schedule can be found on their website. The park also produces a weekly event, their “Saturday Sessions” – a Family Friendly Rave every Saturday night from 8pm – 10pm in the wave pool area. It transforms into a friendly dance party with a Teen DJ spinning the hottest tunes and a host of surprises. Lots of neon glow sticks, light up goodies, and more. The park also has an area for food and beverage in a restaurant – café style atmosphere. The park is located in the Southwest side of Las Vegas near the intersection of Fort Apache and Warm Springs,

Event City Premier plans to visit Wet’n’Wild soon to bring you a diverse roster of Slideboarders that will give you their first hand opinion on this radical new concept integrating online gaming into a full, onboard waterslide interactive experience.
