LAS VEGAS—Finally there is hope. it comes from the sweetest product to ever come from any forest. It’s honey and it has a cause. In an effort to save wild forests and combat climate change a woman-owned food-ceutical social enterprise called African Bronze is checking all the sustainable boxes and providing work as beekeepers for thousands of marginalized people in Zambia and Tanzania.

The research into the millennial-old ingredient has found extensive anti-inflammatory, antioxidant properties along with yummy flavor profiles. This forest honey is better than the popular Manuka honey currently sold widely.

“Our honey is organic, raw, unpasteurized, and harvested with immense care and respect for the Earth,” said Liz Connell, Co-founder and President, African Bronze. “Many people and companies only see honey as a natural sweetener, but our forest honey is so much more than that, it is medicine. Our honey is nutrient-rich, boasts double the antioxidants of Manuka honey, offers antibacterial properties, polyphenols, bioflavonoids, and minerals. We are a ‘food-ceutical’ company. Our product is food that heals.”

Their effort was in response to the calamities of deforestation, neglect of marginalized peoples and persistent ecological disaster of bee colony-collapse disorder. The honey African Bronze is bringing to market has many pieces of these problems in their sights. Putting people to work to sustainably support the bees to produce unparalleled organic forest honey for  consumers, retailers, food and beverage manufacturers, and wellness companies throughout North America.

“Realizing that this amazing honey was virtually unknown in North America and much of the globe, we were motivated to tell our story and introduce this astonishingly delicious, healthy, raw, wild, sustainably harvested honey to the world,” said Connell.

COR Comprehensive Effort to Grow More Organic Olives and Use Education to Establish Strong Roots

California Olive Ranch is making progress in its goals to build a trusted olive oil product and foster a strong resilient organic olive oil industry.

– The leading grower of olives for extra virgin olive oil in the U.S. announces new packaging and investment in innovative technology to provide consumers increased insights into the quality and source of their olive oil

– The company also announces new investments in furthering the California olive oil industry: the planting of two million new olive trees and exciting, new environmental sustainability initiatives, including an expanded commitment to regenerative agriculture and the conversion of 320,000 trees to organic production

COR’s plan is a comprehensive campaign to increase the crop’s foot print while also re-engineering the olive agriculture to be sustainable and transparent. Maintaining high quality product is ever more important as consumers have become hypervigilant about the food chains that lead to their plates.

To that end COR is developing a new, industry-leading technology initiative that will bolster its commitment to transparency even further.  Slated to roll out later this year, this new technology will give consumers even more insight into the source of the oil they purchased and the specific quality and purity certifications and attributes.  Additionally, the technology will help educate consumers on creative uses as well as the unique health benefits of each EVOO in the company’s portfolio.

While COR plans include planting over two million trees and ensuring a subset of 300,000 are organic, COR is also paying attention to the soil by introducing a tea mixed in to rejuvenate and fortify the nutrients that help olives grow. COR included the leading California universities to be able to make the soils sustainable for generations to come.

The revised labels are a step to educate the consumers and build a strong relationship of trust and responsibility with growers.

“We are always pushing to help consumers understand what to expect from our diverse line of products,” said Michael Fox, CEO of COR, “Our labels were industry-leading in their transparency before and now with our new, more modern design are even more accurate, simple and clear.”
